How does billing work?

Doprax uses a pay-as-you-go prepaid wallet. Your available balance is deducted continuously based on the hourly cost of your active services. Common reasons your balance might drop: 🛑 Stopped servers still bill (resources like IP and disk are still reserved) 📊 Traffic overages (metered and held daily once you exceed your plan's allowance) 💾 Snapshots (snapshot storage costs are deducted from your balance daily) ✅ To stop all charges: You must completely Delete the server. Stopping it is not enough.

Why is my balance negative?

Accepted Answer

While your main wallet balance usually doesn't go below zero, your Available Balance can become negative if your accrued usage (like traffic overages or hourly server costs) exceeds your funds. If your available balance stays negative, your services may be automatically frozen and even deleted. 💳 Action required: Please top up your account to clear the pending charges and keep your services running smoothly.

Why is my burn rate / daily charge higher than expected?

The "Estimated daily spending/burn rate" on your dashboard is just a projection based on your currently active servers and recent traffic. Not actual usage, you won't get charged for the based on estimate number. > 💡 We charge you for actual usage, not the estimate. To see exactly what you are paying for: 1️⃣ Go to Account → Billing Overview 2️⃣ Open the Ledger & Breakdown tab 3️⃣ Scroll down to the Ledger table 4️⃣ Click Breakdown on any entry to see the exact unit price, quantity, and math behind the charge.

Why am I still being charged when my server is stopped?

⏸️ Stopping a server does not stop billing. When a server is stopped, it still reserves space on the host node, keeps its data on the disk, and holds onto its public IP address. Because the underlying cloud provider still charges for these reserved resources, the hourly rate continues. ✅ To stop all charges, you must completely Delete the server. *(Tip: You can create a snapshot before deleting if you want to restore your data later!)*

Before reaching out, we highly recommend checking the Ledger Breakdown: 1️⃣ Go to Billing → Balance 2️⃣ Click Breakdown next to the charge for a full receipt showing exactly what it was for (e.g., traffic overage, snapshot storage). If it still doesn't look right, please reply with the Charge ID or Date, and our billing team will investigate it for you! 🕵️‍♂️

Crypto payments go through on-chain confirmations before they credit to your account. ⏳ Please wait 15–30 minutes and then refresh your balance. Different coins have different confirmation times — BTC can take longer than TRX or TON.

What is the minimum balance needed to create a server?

To create a server (VM or App Space), you need enough available balance — not just your wallet balance. > 💡 Available balance = your wallet minus unbilled accrued charges (hourly compute already building up, usage/traffic, and any pending charges). Minimum for any plan: at least $3.00 available. For plans costing $30/month or more (estimated): You also need 10% of the plan's estimated monthly cost in available balance (whichever is higher). Example: a ~$50/mo plan needs about $5.00 available. ⚠️ Also blocked on the create page if: your estimated runway is 2 days or less — top up first, then try again. 💳 Add credit under Billing → Top up if the create page shows a balance warning.

How long does a card-to-card or Rial payment take to confirm?

Card-to-card and Rial payments are confirmed automatically. ⏱️ This takes up to 2 hours but usually much faster (15 minutes). If your payment has been waiting longer than 2 hours, please contact support with your receipt and we will prioritize it.

It depends on your provider on Doprax: Hetzner — only 80, 443, and TCP 19000–19100 (Node/Proxy) are available. UDP is not available. Other ports (e.g. 22, custom ports) are not available. OVH & ProVM — all ports are available. Other providers (Vultr, DigitalOcean, Scaleway, etc.) — fewer restrictions than Hetzner, but not completely unrestricted like OVH/ProVM. Also check your OS firewall (`ufw status` / `iptables -L`) if a port should be open but still fails.

Why does traffic unlock daily? / How doprax charges for traffic

📅 Your traffic quota resets on the 1st of every calendar month — not a rolling 30-day window, and not tied to the day you created the server. Does the quota unlock gradually? It depends on the provider: Hetzner & GCP — you get the full monthly quota from day 1. It does not unlock gradually. Vultr, DigitalOcean, UpCloud — the quota unlocks gradually over the month, so your usable allowance grows day by day and reaches the full amount by month end. ProVM (unlimited plans) — no quota to unlock at all, see below. How traffic is charged: 1. Within your included quota — no extra traffic charge (usage counts against the monthly total) 2. Beyond included quota — overage is metered and charged at your provider's rate (e.g. per 100GB block on Hetzner), deducted from your wallet 3. Billing cadence — overage is charged in small daily amounts (a nightly true-up), not one lump sum, and not "held until a rolling window resets" — the quota itself simply resets on the 1st of next month ✅ Unlimited traffic plans (e.g. most ProVM servers) are exempt from daily allowance and overage rules — there is no monthly cap to unlock and no per-GB traffic charge.

⚠️ It depends on the provider and whether you have balance for overage: Hetzner / metered plans — once your included monthly quota is used up, overage is charged in 100GB blocks from your wallet as small daily charges (not one lump sum). Your server keeps running as long as overage can be deducted; if your available balance stays negative, services may be automatically frozen until you top up. ProVM (unlimited) — there is no monthly cap; this usually doesn't apply. 📊 Check Billing → Balance and your server's traffic graph. The quota itself also refreshes automatically on the 1st of next month — there's no 30-day window to wait out.

🤔 A few things can make traffic billing look wrong at first glance: 1. Reset timing — all providers, including Hetzner, reset the quota on the 1st of the calendar month (never a rolling 30-day window) — double-check which calendar month the charge falls in 2. Daily allowance vs monthly quota — on Vultr, DigitalOcean, and UpCloud the allowance unlocks gradually, so you can be within the monthly total but over today's unlocked slice (see *plan traffic vs daily allowance* above). This does not apply to Hetzner or GCP, which get the full quota from day 1 3. Multiple servers — traffic from all VMs on the account adds up toward the same quotas Please share the charge date or Ledger entry ID and we'll review the traffic logs with you.

Can I buy or register a domain on Doprax?

🚫 No — Doprax is not a domain registrar. We do not sell domains, register new ones, or transfer domains in for you. You need to buy and manage your domain elsewhere (Cloudflare, Namecheap, your registrar, etc.), then connect it to your VM from the dashboard.

How do I connect my own domain to my server?

🌐 Custom domains are connected from the VM Domains tab (v2 dashboard → open your VM → Domains). Steps: 1. Click Add domain and enter a name you already own (e.g. `app.example.com`) 2. At your registrar or DNS host, create an A record pointing that name to your VM's public IPv4 3. Back in Doprax, click Verify — we check public DNS (via 8.8.8.8) that the name resolves to that IP ✅ Once verified, the domain is linked to that VM. ⚠️ Important: Doprax does not create DNS records for custom domains — you must set the A record yourself.

What is the free automatic subdomain?

🎁 Each VM can get one automatic subdomain included — at no extra charge. From your VM → Domains tab, request an automatic subdomain. The platform creates a random name under `librekit.com` (for example `abc123xy.vmcode.librekit.com`) and handles DNS for you via Cloudflare. Notes: Your VM must have a public IPv4 before a subdomain can be created The subdomain is tied to that VM — if you delete the VM, the domain linkage goes with it Older `dopraxrocks.com` subdomains are retired; new ones use `librekit.com`

My domain won't verify — what should I check?

🔍 Verification only succeeds when public DNS shows an A record → your VM's IPv4. Checklist: 1. The A record at your registrar points to the exact IPv4 shown in the Domains tab (not an old IP) 2. You're verifying the same hostname you added (e.g. `app.example.com`, not the apex unless you added it) 3. DNS has propagated — changes can take from a few minutes up to 24–48 hours 4. No conflicting records — remove or fix old A records pointing elsewhere ❌ Not supported today: CNAME-only verification, IPv6-only records, or verifying through Doprax's DNS editor (there isn't one for custom domains). Use a tool like [dnschecker.org](https://dnschecker.org) to confirm the A record is visible globally before clicking Verify again.

Can I add MX, TXT, CNAME, or other DNS records in Doprax?

🚫 No — Doprax is not a full DNS hosting panel for custom domains. For domains you own, you manage all DNS records (A, MX, TXT, CNAME, wildcard, etc.) at your registrar or DNS provider. The dashboard only lets you: Add / remove a domain name on the VM Verify that your A record points to the VM's IPv4 Automatic librekit.com subdomains get DNS created for you server-side (including Cloudflare proxy) — you cannot toggle CDN/proxy settings in the UI.

Can I use my own domain instead of subdomains?

✅ Yes — bring any domain you already own. Doprax does not register domains for you. On your VM → Domains → Add domain, then at your DNS provider create an A record to your VM's IPv4 and click Verify. See "How do I connect my own domain to my server?" in this section for the full step-by-step.

Question 63

IPv6 is not reachable on my server

Accepted Answer

IPv6 is not available on every provider. It is requested automatically when the server is created on Hetzner, Vultr, DigitalOcean and Scaleway. On OVH, Gcore and GCP no IPv6 address is assigned at creation, and on ProVM it depends on the node your server landed on. If your provider does assign one, you will see the address on the VM detail page in your dashboard. If it is there but unreachable, check that your OS has it configured (`ip -6 addr`) and that your firewall isn't dropping IPv6.

How do I configure IPv6 on my server?

First check whether your server has an IPv6 address at all — one is assigned at creation on Hetzner, Vultr, DigitalOcean and Scaleway, but not on OVH, Gcore or GCP. The VM detail page in your dashboard shows it. If there is an address, configuring it is an OS-level task: netplan on Ubuntu, `/etc/network/interfaces` on Debian, NetworkManager on Rocky, AlmaLinux and Fedora. If the address is assigned but traffic still doesn't flow, contact support with your server ID and we'll check the provider side.
