What OVH is changing
Until now, an OVH cloud instance came with its disk and its public IPv4 address included in one price. Starting October 1, 2026, OVH bills the disk and the IPv4 address as separate items. The price of the compute (CPU and RAM) stays the same, but the total cost of the same server goes up.
This is not the first increase this year. In April, OVH raised prices on its cloud and VPS ranges and changed how it prices IPv4 addresses. We did not pass that increase on to you, because we chose to absorb it. With the October change added on top, we can no longer keep the old prices.
What changes at Doprax
OVH changed its billing model, and we have updated our pricing to match. We are applying the new model to all VMs we run on OVH, so each plan's price is now the sum of three parts: compute (CPU and RAM), disk at about $0.18 per GB per month, and one public IPv4 address at $3.35 per month.
You don't have to calculate anything yourself. The Create VM page in your dashboard already shows the new total price for every OVH plan.
When the new prices start
Doprax bills VMs by the hour, so the new prices apply from the first hour of October 1, 2026. This includes VMs that are already running. Your VM keeps running without any action from you, and the new hourly rate appears in your billing from that hour.
One practical point: your hourly cost will be higher, so check your credit balance. When credit reaches zero, the server shuts down, and Doprax deletes it within 24 hours.
Which VMs this affects
This update applies to VMs that run on OVH. ProVM is not part of this update.
An alternative if you want one
If you want to compare options, look at ProVM, our own VM line. It has dedicated IPs, per-hour billing, a 1 Gbps port, and regions in the UK, France, Germany, Poland, and Canada.
To switch, create a ProVM in the dashboard and move your services to it. Then delete the old OVH VM so it stops billing.
If OVH changes its prices again, we will explain what changed and why, the same way we did here.
See the new prices on the Create VM page in your Doprax dashboard.
